Week 37: September 19

What is up???? How is it back in the promised land? I hope it is good ! Goood job aspen!! I saw on Facebook you won first! That's sweet. Your a pro! So we got transfer news!! I am getting transferred to Arcata Hoopa !! Hoopa is a Indian reservation about an hour from Arcata! I new I was going up there I so called it! I am super excited. It's cold up there though haha but it will be sweet! I am follow up training elder Cullimore, I want to call him kulimon, that's the name of a orc chief it sounds so familiar with his name haha it's from a movie. So I am pretty excited. The drive is like 6 hours though. But worth it.

This week was good though, Monday we went down to Ukiah and played ball and frisbee golf which is da best!

Tuesday we went on exchanges in kellysville with elder Martinez love that guy, been with him since he was born. We had a lot of fun we went finding Tuesday and we had a Lesson with this guy that was complete crazy I didn't even know what he was talking about but tried to explain the Book of Mormon to him and he completely ignored it and told us we had to leave out of the blue I was like okay? But it was good, we went and visited to guys with cancer they were boy less active but really cool people, they said we could come back and visit them Saturday, I wasn't there but that is still good. We then went back to the apartment and had dinner and we went back out and walked forever! And tried finding some people but no luck it was a good luck though fall is coming in I love fall!

But that morning of Wednesday we went and walked forever again and tried a couple people know one answered or they just didn't want to meet or was t interested anymore.  It we exchanged after that and we had to go get a oil change, so we went and walked down state street talking to some people didn't really see that much but we got a lot of knocks haha. After that though we went and saw some people that was on the list that we got from the ward council to see if they still lived here no body lived there haha, well none of the names we were looking for anyways. But it was fun we then had dinner with the rodiquezes and had a good dinner with them.

Thursday we had a good day we went less active finding from our list saw one of them told us to come back another day, went on a road trip after and got lost in the mountains for a little that was fun 😂 but after that we had dinner with the tiptons but they just delivered money to us so we went and bought Taco Bell 🔔 which wasn't the healthiest but mission life! The struggle is real!

Friday we had weekly planning not that fun haha, but after we went and saw von a tala after to see how they were doing and invited them out to church.

Saturday was good we did service for a member in the morning and then  we went and helped brother Larson with a project at his ranch and then we went and moved some furniture to Denis and vessas house. Long awesome day of service !!

Sunday was good sad, that's for sure I will miss a lot of people, especially Denis and vessa love that family I gave my talk on love it was really good wasn't nervous at all!!! I think I am finally overcoming this nervous problem of public speaking! 😂 but a lot of people came up after and said by and said it was a really good talk so that's good!

I will miss Lakeport even though it was a hard area definitely will miss it here. That was my week though I will let you know what my new address is, so it will be sweet! Love you guys!! Tell the kids I say heyyy.

Week 36: September 12

Monday we had pday and we canceled the hike cause people wanted to go to Ukiah again, to play basketball so why not? It's fun, we also went and played frisbee golf which I love. And guess what ?! We saw Michael and Rose there and the park ! I love that family it was so good to see them and to know how good they are doing, when rose saw me she gave me a big hug it was sweet! We also saw the carsons they are awesome as well. We had a good time playing frisbee and elder out here he lives in Orem and he is my fav. We are really good friends, but president called him telling him his parents are getting divorced I feel really bad for him it's super sad cause they were sealed 7 years ago as a family. It's super sad to see but it's more and more common in this world. But pday was good.

Tuesday guess who came up on exchanges one of the APs his name is elder Hensley. Cool guy played for the Arizona sun devils football team. But we worked our butts off all day we went up to nice and Lucerne and upper lake we had a really good lesson with this investigator we finally met with, her name is Venus and wow she has changed 100% since the last time we saw her, she loves God now and puts him in her life everyday, it was a long lesson. We went and saw the mintons as well after that that took a long time to see cause they live kinda far, but we had a met with them and taught them about temples and testimonies and church and they really opened up they are a really really awesome family I love them a lot, after that we did a lot of finding which took up most of the time, we then went to the schribers home to eat dinner and mom guess what she made?! She made the curry broccoli and rice, and it tasted the exact as yours it was a little piece of home :) it was a good dinner that family is really cool she has something wrong with her body though, she is in pain 24/7 which is horrible but she is staying strong. We went to he church after and dropped the AP with his companion and they left after that we went to the labrashes and had a good meeting with them, they are loving us coming over now, we taught them about the Book of Mormon and they asked a lot of questions of how it was made and Joseph smith, it's amazing how much they want to learn now that they know that we are they just to help them.

On Wednesday we did a lot of finding during the day on lakeshore road found a couple people who could kinda be potentials, but that night I got really sick, had super big shivers and I got a fever all night and my lungs were clogged so that wasn't to good. Thursday We just stayed in cause I had a fever and I was in no mood to do anything.

But Friday was a little better so we went to the church and planned all day and tried to go see the Scott's  it they were not home.

Saturday was pretty good we went out and saw some peeps and then went to do some service for a member and did some yard work it was sweet, after we went to Denis and vessa s for dinner she made amazing Mexican food. And we taught them some cool stuff 😃😃 like always. We talked about callings and how important they are.

Sunday was church ward council in the morning it was really good we talked about a lot of people and got names to go see. Church was good until after when we got asked to speak next week!! 😱🏃🏃🏃 naaa it will be good 😀 I am going to speak on love. Pretty easy haha. But after church we went and saw this old guy who told us to leave haha. It was good, but after we went and had smoked salmon straight from Alaska at the larsons !! Yeah 🐠🐠!!

Today we are going to Ukiah again!! But this might be he last time I go there cause transfers are next week so I will find out Saturday where I am going !! So far 4 1/2 in Ukiah and 4 1/2 here! I am a 4 1/2 month guy! So for family home evening you could do  (Pressing Forward through the Plateaus: by Christopher Drake.)  It's in the September ensign. My thoughts on it is that as we do all of these out door activities and go hiking and cycling and any out door crazy sport that it requires some hard training or experience just like life we need to be prepared for the worldly adversity, and he talks about what he needs to do work out the muscles that he doesn't really work. And what of the outcome ? After doing all of those things there is pain of soreness after. Sometimes in life we try our hardest we do our best and after stuff happens trials come up that we have to work through we have to make those muscles stronger. Which makes us stronger and able to resist temptations. Those are my quick thoughts haha.

But I love you guys here is a little thing about love that Albert Einstein said " This universal force is love. When scientists looked for a unified theory of the universe they forgot the most powerful unseen force.
Love is light, that enlightens those who give and receive it.
Love is gravity, because it makes some people feel attracted to others.
Love is power, because it multiplies the best we have, and allows humanity not to be extinguished in their blind selfishness. Love unfolds and reveals.
For love we live and die.
Love is God and God is love. "

Yeah! We went fishing this morning bright and early at the olsons dock! It was sweet. Caught a pretty good size one! Transfers are on Tuesday and we find out on Saturday where we are going so you will find out next week! It's crazy how fast it flies by yet super slow at the same time. Definitely the biggest hardest thing I have ever done haha. It's super fun though we have fun. We might go to the ocean next Monday and go ocean fishing with the larsons son. He just got back from Alaska. So it will be cool! The AP that came up said he would tell president to send me up to eureka ! Hopefully I go up there next hah :)

Pretty cool, well I hope all of you are doing really well, and know that I love you!! ️ with all the 🐎🐎's in Rohan

Week 35: September 5

Subject: Week of nothing but service

This week was really really a struggle, we go like 1 lesson the whole week. Not cool but the good side is that we had a lot of service, like idk what to even talk about but I guess I will start with Monday. We had pday here in Lakeport after the hike which I forgot my camera but we are going next week so I will bring it then, and everyone came up and we play basketball it was really fun. After that we had dinner with he olsons, had a good dinner with them.

Tuesday we had zone meeting it was good we did some practices introducing ourselves and the Book of Mormon but we kinda went over a lot, but we drove back to Lakeport and went and did some service for brother Morison and painted his shed which was awesome except that there were tons of bees, they ain't cool 🏃 I was outa there. But after we went less active finding didn't find anyone which is really sad cause there's tons of them ! Haha. We didn't have a dinner either which was sad but I made chicken katsu!! It was so good, definitely gonna make that again!

But on Wednesday we less active finding all day that sucked, just being real. But we did see this guy walking along side of the road looking like a zombie pretty sure he was in his own world, a lot of zombies here it's pretty normal haha. But we had dinner with the rodiquezes it was a good dinner and lesson after we taught the, about how to stay in the world and still be close to the gospel even though it is pretty hard.

Thursday we did huge service for this member we cut her trees and cleaned up he branches and set them on a trailer and hauled them to the dump. I ripped my shirt 😭 it was so sad. After we went and tried to see Ryan a less active but he wasn't home. We then drove by the fair and tons of people were there so we decided to talk to a few handed a couple cards out and went on our way.

Friday planning day!! Yeah! My favorite day of the week. We had a good planning session though. This next week we are going on exchanges with the APs, so that will be excited. A lot of finding to do, transfers are in 2 weeks the 20th and maybe I will leave this place ! 😃 Naa I will miss it even if it's a dead place haha. A lot of cool people I like here.

But yeah Saturday we had service all day, we went to kelseyville to help pull bushes with the other missionaries and then we went after and had lunch and then went to move brother Taylor out he is moving to draper Utah! He is a cool guy. After that we went to the Alexander's and helped dig out his yard and helped his clean everything that took 6 hours haha. A long time ! But we had steak after so it was totally worth it 😀😀🍖🍖 we went after and tried to see the Scott's they were not home they went to the movies.

But yeah Sunday was good we went to church and I said the opening prayer is sacrament my fear of talking or doing anything like that is slowly slowly disappearing. So hopefully when I give my homecoming talk I will look a little more lively !! 😂 but after church we went through a list of less active primary families and we had dinner with bishop and had pulled pork my favorite. And then we went and visited the Scott's and Von and tala some awesome investigators. A mother and a daughter they are super cool.

So I had a crazy dream that I will share with you guys that I had last night obviously since I am sharing a dream it made a effect on me, so the dream was I was in this super beautiful grove with a big green tree to my left and I felt super peaceful but I had this feeling in my heart and it over whemled me, and I was walking an I saw a man in white robes and had he came closer I felt more and more like crying, and we had brown here but I couldn't really see his face but we came and gave me a hug and as I put my chin on his shoulder and he said "have faith" and I started crying. I have had only one other dream like that but not that detailed, and I know that I have been struggling with believing in what I am doing and having the faith to be here and the faith to go out and find someone or people to teach to help. And I see now that I need my faith I know it is in my heart I just need to believe. 😥

I am reaching 9 months people say it's the hardest part of the journey out here, I know I will make it because I love it, I love what I am doing. Even if right now I don't get why I am here in Lakeport not finding success maybe I am here for many different reasons maybe for my own growth or someone's. I just have to continue pushing forward even if there are some pot holes and some bumps in the road, there will always be no matter what, that's what life is a bumpy road that we can only take with the savior our savior my savior the worlds savior. D@C 122:7 my favorite scripture "7 And if thou shouldst be cast into the pit, or into the hands of murderers, and the sentence of death passed upon thee; if thou be cast into the deep; if the billowing surge conspire against thee; if fierce winds become thine enemy; if the heavens gather blackness, and all the elements combine to hedge up the way; and above all, if the very jaws of hell shall gape open the mouth wide after thee, know thou, my son, that all these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good." It's all for our experience, our growth. I love you guys, anything exciting happen this week? Thank you for the letters! 😃😃

may the 🐎🐎's  of Rohan be with you. 😜
