Week 85: August 21

Dear family,

This week was slow, important news transfers are this Tuesday and elder Doubleday is getting transferred to Vacaville, I am sad I wish I was staying with him another one. I want to get transferred somewhere else. But yeah so Wednesday was pday and we went to a park and played ultimate frisbee and there was a small water park there so it was nice, we also played hot lava tag which was funny to see all these missionaries running around like little kids haha.

Thursday we went finding and visited a super cool member, and helped and gave him advice to stop smoking, he is super cool. Just got out of the hospital so it was good to see him, and after we had a good dinner with a sweet family that had some foster kids. 

Friday we had weekly planning and that was the same haha, I also had my doctors visit mentioned above. We also went on exchanges with our DLs for the day so that was good to be with elder Taylor. 

Saturday was good we had service at the farmers market and had some cool people come talk to us, after we went and did some finding we also took our car in and got it changed and we went on a long walk and contacted some people downtown Dixon so that was okay. 

Sunday we had church and we had a huge meeting before about the ward mission and how the members can help and what they can do, so that was crazy. We had church which was cool, some investigators came so that was sweet and after we visited a member and then elder Doubleday started to pack a little and then we had dinner at a awesome member house that night, that made us German pancakes delicious. But that was my week, love you guys!

Week 84: August 16

Dear family,

Another week has gone by it went super quick, one more week left in the transfer which is crazy. But this week was good Monday was pday we played basketball with some members and then we went and had a family home evening with our investigator which was really awesome 

Tuesday we didn't have district meeting because on Wednesday we have our zone conference but Tuesday was good we cleaned our apartment up a little because of inspections the following morning. After that we went and had lunch with a member at this Asian place, and she brand one of her friends that was not a member and we had a really good lunch with her and we were able to explain exactly what we did as missionaries and then we gave her a Book of Mormon and explained what it is and where it came from so that was sweet she was super awesome. After that we went finding a little which was okay. 

Wednesday we had zone conference it was really good we talked about a ton of things, we had president bell come and teach also and sister wright taught about whisperings of the spirit. And baptizing converts and other things, 30% of our mission is becoming new tons of missionaries are coming in, in the next couple months so tons of trainers will be needed this next transfer which ends next Tuesday! But yeah it was awesome we had a good lunch and brother Jay talked to us about cars and it was super funny. President asked at the end if I would bare my testimony and other missionaries as well so that was kinda nerve wrecking haha. 

Thursday was good we went finding and we had service in the morning and we went and visited Ron and joe at there farm and talked with him about missionary work and how Important it is, he was just called to be a ward missionary so that was sweet to see and see him grow. 

Friday we had planning and we were going to have a meeting with our ward mission leader but it was canceled so we went planning instead and then after we had dinner with a sweet family we had tri tip steak and tons of veggies it was super good. 

Saturday was decent we did some finding, and that's pretty much it haha. 

Sunday we had church and it was a good day, had a good gospel principles class my favorite member taught it he is in a wheelchair and he is super funny and just a really awesome guy, elder quorum was super interesting we went off on the super deep stuff about the priesthood and also about the crazy eclipse and dimensions I didn't even know existed like dimensions 11 and 12?? Brain exploded so basically it was like science class haha. After we went and had lunch with a awesome family there youngest son looks and acts just like Joshua so it was cool. 

Monday we went on a blitz with the ZLs and we went teaching and found a sweet dude named dean that lived in another area in the mission and was taught by one of my favorite missionaries, and after we talked to some cool people. After we went and had dinner and yeah! 

Tuesday was good we had a really goofy district meeting and that was sweet, it was my companions birthday so the district made a cake and then set up birthday stuff for him and we all sang to him so that was super cool. After we went and visited some other Missionaries and then went finding and had a sweet dinner that baked him another cake so that was funny haha. But it was chocolate zucchini cake which was heaven In the mouth. But yeah today we went to the temple in Sacramento.  It was really good had a good time with everyone it was awesome. Love you!!

Week 83: August 7

Dear family, 

This week was good kinda slow but yeah so Monday we had pday it was fun played basketball and board games so that was good and then after we had a sweet dinner with the relief society president at this Chinese restaurant and after we did a little bit of finding. 

Tuesday was district meeting and that fun, we had the APs come and join us it was a good district meeting we talked about comp unity and working with members, after we went and got some lunch and then we went and had a lesson and went finding until dinner. 

Wednesday we went to the doctor for my rash on my leg, I am going back on the 18th for a test to make sure it's not cancerous, so hopefully that goes well haha, after that we went and had a lesson with Ron a recent convert and talked about the Holy Ghost and just was there for him like usual and after that we did some less active work. 

Thursday we tried to meet with one of our investigators that I have never met yet, sadly they were not home so we just did the usual we also met with our ward mission leader and discussed some things with him 

Friday was good we had weekly planning and had a good dinner with a family and after we finished up some planning and went and visited a family, and took some Book of mormons to an older couples house for them. 

Saturday was super cool I called president last week cause there was a baptism on Saturday in novato and he said that I could go to that, so we drove to novato Saturday and went down to San Rafael to the baptism of Robert, so it was awesome it was a great baptism to see elder Christensen baptized him, and we got to see a couple of other missionaries as well so it was a good day. 

Sunday was church and we had a really good gospel essentials with a recent convert teaching it, it was on spiritual gifts. And after church we met with all the ward mission leaders and discussed everything there. And then we had a sweet dinner after with a huge family. ! Other than that elder Doubleday is doing good as well. 👍

We are working with a investment named Fiona, she is going to go to a temple open house in Utah at the end of this year and she is struggling with coffee so just pray she will overcome that.

Week 82: July 31

Dear family, 

This week was really good we had a lot of fun, Monday was okay we played basketball and it was elder southwick last pday which was super sad. But life goes on, after pday we went to our investigators house and cook us an amazing dinner with steak and lamb chops And lobster ravioli, and potatoes. Super good we visited with her and talked about life and the effects of drugs and some personal experiences it was cool. 

Tuesday we had district meeting it was a good district meeting we talked about listening to he spirit and we played this sweet game with a ball of string. Then we took district pictures for elder southwick cause he was dying so we put him on a table and pretended to have a funeral for him it was sweet. After that we went and did some finding which was okay, we had a sweet dinner that night with a huge family with a ton of kids. 

Wednesday we had an interesting lesson with a member that is struggling basically he told us that the world is dying and we are basically dead and we should be super scared and we shouldn't have kids and all the food was dying and the world is basically dying soo.. that was fun haha. After we did that we talked about the pioneers and what they went though and all the things they had to go through to get to Utah valley. After that went and tried to see our other investigator which was way out in Vacaville but sadly he wasn't home, and we kinda lost all communication with him cause he has gotten into some anti material sadly. But after that we went and visited a couple more people. 

Thursday was good we went to the thrift store and did service there and cleaned the whole place, and after we went to lunch with the other elders before elder southwick left, we did some finding and walking in the heat. And then that night we went to woodland and played basketball with a lot of non members and that was super fun. After we went to sonic and had some Powerade ice cream which I was kinda nervous for but it was pretty good 😊. Everyone sadly said goodbye to elder southwick so that was sad, but I will see him in almost 4 months haha 😜 

Friday was weekly planning but we also went and did service for our investigators parents and house did some yard work like last week, and did some other things and we talked with them for a long time and then after that we had lunch with them and then went on our way and did weekly planning. 

Saturday we had a service in the morning at the farmers market which was okay, lots of crazy people coming over to us but it was good. Then after we went and visited a couple people and had a good time with them we had a sweet dinner with this Asian family they made this awesome fu dish it was amazing! And there daughter was the cutest little girl haha. 

Sunday was good we had church and we taught gospel principles on the Holy Ghost it was good we had a really good discussion with them and then after we went and visited a couple families and had a sweet dinner with this awesome family in this huge house in the middle of nowhere so that was cool. But that was my week!! I got the package thank you!! And I sent aspen and birthday letter so look out for that! Love you!
