Week 81: July 24

This week was good, Dixon is slowly growing on me their are some super sweet people here even though it's a small city, but to get into my week Monday we had our fist pday together as a zone we played basketball and soccer and then after we played board games and hung out and some elders made some really good deep fried chicken fingers. And that night we had a good dinner after that and we then went and visited some less actives after that.

Tuesday was really good we had a sweet district meeting about planning and making goals and how important they are. And how if we don't have a goal then we don't want to improve ourselves. So goals are important! But after we went on exchanges I went with elder southwick he was my companion in Lakeport a year ago, he goes home in a week so that's super sad. We had a member take us out to get sushi and we got a huge platter sooo good! But we had fun we had a sweet lesson with one of there investigators and the sisters, talking about her conversion stories ( one of the sisters) awesome lesson. And that night  we went to institute and had an amazing lesson on sexual immorality. Super super good.

Wednesday we had interviews with president wright, it was a good interview with him he gave me some advice and other tips. After interviews we exchanged back and we had a good lesson with a member named Ron he is a super cool guy who has been through a ton of stuff in his life and it's amazing he is at where he is. That why it's so important to rely on the lord because if you do he will take care of you and you will be okay.

Thursday was cool we went and did some service for our investigator and then we went a little finding lessons fell through, but that night we went to our investigators house and we visited with him, he isn't ready to go to church yet but hopefully one day he will.

Friday was sweet we had service for our investigators parents so we went over there and we did some garden work in the heat and sweat buckets. Then we moved this massive fridge out of the house and then they fed us lunch! The cooliest old people ever!

Saturday we went to west sac to go to the stake pioneer lunch it was super good, lots of people to talk to and it was a good turn out, and after we went over to the sisters investigators house and we gave him a blessing to stop smoking and to have the strength to get over his addiction, we drove back to Dixon and went to dinner with a sweet family with lots of kids. And then we had an awesome lesson with an member after.

Sunday was church it was a good turn out we had 4 investigators at church so that was awesome. And after that we had a meeting later that day with our bishop and ward mission leader and another member about less actives and the people that we could go see and also who we can call to ask them to feed us basically haha, so we can have contact with them. But that was my week! Love you!

Week 80: July 17

This week was good busy with transfers, Dixon is super flat super hot and small. So it's cool haha. Luckily we have AC in the apartment so we're are blessed for that. My bed is as hard as a brick. But it's good 👍 Monday was the last pday that we had in Novato. We said goodbye to all the missionaries going home I will definitely miss a lot of them. But after we went back to the apartment and I packed for the rest of the night.

Tuesday was transfers so it was good we got there around 9:30am and unloaded our stuff and packed the cars with everything and talked to all the missionaries, and I went and said to sister jay, after we went to Olive Garden with the other missionaries for lunch and drove to Dixon it was scary to see the temperature go super high haha. But it was good I u packed and we went and had dinner with and a sweet family.

Wednesday we met with our ward mission leader at Taco Bell is super super cool and we is the most hard working ward missionary leader I have ever had haha. It's crazy! Haha. We went over to another member and correlated with them. It was good after we went and visited Ron a less active member out side his work house, he is a care taker so we visit him on his lunch break, and it was super funny cause one of the guys there he takes care of is super old and he was crawling on the lawn picking the grass haha. And his prosthetic leg fell off it was a sight.

Thursday was good we went and did service at a thrift store dusted and helped take stuff in and swept and sorted clothes. It was good. After we went and visited a less active family and did some finding, and we had a good lesson with this one family. It went well.

Friday we had planning and we had dinner and we went finding and we went to our investigators house and visited with them. That went really well it was good to meet them finally.

Saturday was district meeting in the morning so our whole zone got together first and then we split off after. District meeting was good we set goals for the transfer. And after we went to do some service for our investigator at this hot rod show, so that was sweet, and then we went and visited a less active.

Sunday was church and this ward is huge, the biggest I have seen on my mission probably 200 or more that came, so it was different haha. Tons of active member we cover the Dixon ward, that's the only ward in Dixon. Our mission leader is new but he has been a mission leader 3 times before and man he gets after it. The members are cool so far haha. But after church we went and did some finding and went to dinner at our ward mission leaders house it was super fun. After we had the stake meet and greet with the stake our ward mission leader was in charge of that, and talked about how to get the members to help us. So it was sweet. My companion elder Doubleday is doing good, he is from Utah from a small town by Morgan Utah forgot the name he had been out for almost a year. He is a cool guy 😎 the weather is pretty hot 105 yesterday. Love you!

Tuesday was district meeting the last one, so it was really good. After we went on exchanges with our district leader I went with Elder Bartlett and we went finding and that night we had the Book of Mormon class which was good but only one person came but it was a really great discussion that we had about second nephi.

Wednesday we had the Golden Gate stake park service again and that was super cool we went to Muir beach and we dug up illegal fire pits which was super cool. We also got to go to the Muir Woods and see the ancient Redwoods so that was super cool. We drove back after and went finding we went to go see brother Bentley after that.

Thursday was okay we went contacting in the morning and then after we went to service to the food bank good to see the people there that we always see. We went to the church and Elder Christensen did my plan, he goes home in 4 weeks! So that's crazy.

Happy Fourth of July week!! I hope all y'all  light as many fireworks as possible !💥

This week was good Monday we went and played basketball for pday and hung out with all the missionaries, after we went and visited a less active family and shared the do not despair talk so that was good to see them.

Tuesday was good we didn't have district meeting because we have zone conference on Friday. But we went and did  some finding tried to visit a couple potentials and we went contacting and finding downtown it's interesting trying to contact downtown really anywhere cause people are walking by really fast and especially when they see us they seem to walk a little faster haha, it can be awkward at times but there are some cool people to talk to. That night we had an amazing dinner with a sister at this restaurant called toast, it is amazing!! But it was cool to listen to her to share a couple scriptures about prayer with her.

Wednesday we did a little finding in the morning and then the carlsons came and drove us to Sacramento and of course we got there super early my appointment was set 4:45 and we got there at 2 so we went an contacted by the capital it was super cool, we met with homeless guy who was actually a member a lost is home a week ago, so we bought him subway and talked with him for a while and then we committed him to go and find a church this coming Sunday to go to, it was a cool experience. After the appointment we went and had dinner at pita pats and drove home.

Thursday was good we went and did some finding and we went down to the church in San Rafael and did some computer stuff for my companion, and then we went to service and the medical clinic handing out food to people in need. Under the tents luckily the heat wave is gone so it's cool outside it's super cool to see the huge wall of fog come in from the ocean. But after dinner we went and visited a recent convert that went to the temple just this last week and read the scriptures with him.

Friday was zone conference it was good we met up in Rohnert park we were combined with the Santa Rosa elder and sisters, we did some practices and we talked about teaching and our skills and a story about leaving our nets and our fishing and never returning, there was a talk from elder holland about that we can never return to our nets so it was pretty cool. There was a ton of departing testimonies there is like over 20 missionaries going home this transfer that's a lot. My companion is going home next month. So yeah it was a good day.

Saturday we played ball in the morning with some people and then we planned all day so not that exciting.

Sunday was good we were asked to teach the young men about going on missions and  that we are regular people and normal. And that we had normal life's before this haha. It was good. After church we went and visited a less active family that came to church so that was sweeet. And we are not meeting with John anymore sadly.  It that was my week !! We don't know if we can do anything for the Fourth of July so we are still waiting on a reply from the boss. But sounds like the kids are doing good!! And it sounds like when I get home it will be like getting a new house cause dad is remodeling everything ! Haha. I will try to take a pic for Avery. Love you guys!!
